president?

just a quick post to state plainly-while there are several adds on my blog site for presidential candidates.  i am in no way endorsing anyone.  i am still looking through the information on each candidate.  the adds are there because i feel it is only proper that i should allow townhall.com to run the adds.  after all, they are allowing me to use townhall.com as my blog site.

A COMMON GOAL?

i want to start this post by making some qualifying statements;
i am not (in this post and do not personally equate) equating leftists, liberals and atheists with terrorists, i.e. i do not think they should be rounded up and put in prison and/or executed nor do i equate their-leftist, liberal, and atheistic-actions (however wrong and misguided) to those of terrorists.  i do not, and will not make them morally equivalent...they are not the same (is that plain enough.?).

i am posting this because i managed to catch the very end of a conservative talk show the other day ( i will not state the name until i am able to e-mail the show and talk to the host so i can clarify what was being discussed). from what i heard i believe something similar to this question was posed;

do some leftist, liberals and atheists share a common goal with terrorists in that they wish to eliminate judeo-Christian ethics, morals, and values (especially in the united states?).

it was the proverbial food for thought.  i had to ask myself, "in the long run do organizations (such as the freedom from religion organization [f.f.r]) share a common goal as the terrorists, i.e. the elimination of judeo-Christian ethics, morals and values?"
it would appear that from the organization's title we could assume, "no" as the terrorists have aligned themselves with "allah" and do what they do in the name of "islam".  these terrorists that the u.s. is presently fighting in iraq and afghanistan-i.e. those that are blowing up women and children around the world, sawing off peoples heads (with relish) and attempting to produce a second 9-11 on u.s. soil-are doing these things in the name of religion.  so it would seem that organzations such as the f.f.r would wholeheartedly stand against the terrorists.  furthermore,  the terrorists are supposedly doing things in the name of "god" (note the small "g", it is intended) so that would definitely give the very vocal atheists (in this country at least) something to stand against.  in fact the atheists and f.f.r. could (and probably will) use the whole 9-11 tragedy as an example to support their causes.  strangely enough, i don't see to many atheists nor any members of the f.f.r (actually i must be honest and confess that i don't know any atheists or members of f.f.r. personally) that are standing against the terrorists...but that is not the subject of this post.
so back to answering the question-perhaps the best way to do this is point by point followed by a yes or no
1. do the terrorists wish to subjugate the world to islam and shariah law?-yes
    do the the leftists, liberals, atheists, and organizations such as the f.f.r. wish to do the same?-no
2. do the terrorists wish to eliminate israel and the jews (don't kid yourself into thinking they do not)-
    yes
    do the leftists, liberals, atheists and organizations such as the f.f.r. wish to elimnate israel and the
    jews? no/yes.  unfortunately, there are some groups (not the f.f.r to my knowledge) that are leftist
    that do wish to see the elimination of israel and the jews.  not all leftist, liberals, atheists and
    organizations like the f.f.r wish to do so.
3. if their goals of establishing islam as the world religion and subjugating everyone to shariah law
    are accomplished will judeo-Christian ethics, morals and values be eliminated?-yes
    if the goals of the leftists, liberals, atheists and organizations such as f.f.r. are accomplished will
    judeo-Christian ethics, morals and values be eliminated?-yes
so, again, i must ask myself;
do some leftist, liberals and atheists share a common goal with terrorists in that they wish to eliminate judeo-Christian ethics, morals, and values (especially in the united states?).
and i must answer in the affirmative.  i hope this is not overly simplistic, but when speaking of results; it would appear that they do share a common goal .

MOVE OVER ANA-NICOLE, HERE COMES SCOOTER

today while listening to michael medved on the radio i was reminded why i turn the radio off (or down) when the commercial breaks and the "news" breaks come on.  i like listening to medved, hewitt, hannity, limbaugh and others who think, blog and talk honestly and intelligently.  i know i can rely on them for honest and accurate informaton and intelligent conversation.  when they make a mistake or give wrong information they are quick to correct it and/or apologize if necessary.  in contrast to this is the msm and those little "news" breaks that michael medved and others are obligated to take.  please allow me to explain;
mr. medved had just finished discussing the scooter libby verdict.  he explained all the in's and out's of it quite well and even clarified what it was and was not about, then came the "news" break  and of course the "big news" of the day was...ana nicole smith?...no, it was the scooter libby verdict, except it wasn't news.  it was propaganda aimed at trying to make the current administration look incompetent and dishonest.  i began to wonder about this (but not for to long), for weeks now the big "news" for the msm was ana nicole smith, ana nicole smith, ana nicole smith.  why?  because the msm did not have any "news" that they could use against our current commander in chief to undermine him, the administration and the current world war on terrorrism (yes they are undermining our troops too, but they won't say that).  what's worse they deliberately choose to tie the scooter libby verdict and trial in with the "outting" of valerie plame (the not so undercover c.i.a agent) and make it sound as if the whole lame plame incident was a vendetta of bush and his administration.  oh well, move over ana nicole...here comes scooter.

THOUGHTS ON ST.PATRICKS DAY AND THE CHRISTMAS TREE WARS

i orginally posted this on another blog site in march of 2006.  i am posting this here because i have heard that many schools are beginning to forbid references to valentine's day (st. valentine's day).  i do not know if this is true, but i will try to do some research on the net and locally to find out.  until then here is my original post.

as i was driving to work this morning i listen to some news. one of the features on the radio news was the yearly st. patrick's day parade in new york city.  they talked about how people were wearing green and the excitement...they even interviewed people.  hmmm...seems like a big event.  i began thinking about the various ways that people celebrate this unofficial holiday in this country.  you know; wearing green, visiting irish pubs, drinking green beer, playing irish music, having parades, etc.. i thought of all the little school children that would be wearing green and eating green frosted cookies and cupcakes. i thought of all the green construction paper shamrocks you would see in classroom windows and all the shamrock coloring sheets that would be handed out....then it hit me, isn't this holiday something of a "religious" holiday?  after all we are celebrating SAINT patrick and what he did for ireland.  isn't he the patron SAINT of ireland?  hmmm, how could the atheists, a.c.l.u. and others like them have allowed this to happen?  then i remembered the idiocy of this past Christmas...you know; "holiday" trees not Christmas trees, not being allowed to wear red or green at schools, not being allowed to use red or green paper plates and napkins at your "winter" parties, the "happy holidays" or "seasons greetings" phrases that school children (and some store employees) were required to use.  hmmm, i wonder what would happen if we applied this to st. patrick's day?  that means children could not wear anything green this day, they could not eat anything green, employees and stores could not have anything green that even remotely hints at the holiday.  there could not be any construction paper shamrocks in the windows or teachers could not hand out shamrock coloring sheets...they would have to be called clovers (not shamrocks).  there just seems to be no end to the "possibilities".  an atheist and the a.c.l.u. could have a blast with this holiday. oooo, better not let them know about their obvious blunder. who knows we might be banned from driving green cars on march 17th every year.
